The Somerset And Dorset Masbury Summit To Broadstone
Amongst the Ivo Peters film archive is some excellent footage of the famous former Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway (SDJR). This was a cross country route which linked the West Midlands to the south coast via rolling hills. Steam locomotives always dominated the route, and diesels were very few and far between.
Continuing from part 1 we continue looking at the line between Masbury Summit and Broadstone. This is followed by a journey on a freight train from Evercreech Junction to Bath. Several locations are pictured in 'then and now' format.
