|Sub-titled: including Aylesbury High Street and Dunstable North Branches
The main line has been subject of many changes of traction and architecture; these are comprehensively illustrated, along with details of infrastructure upgrades. The timeless branches make a nostalgic contrast, with their antique charm.
Originally built by the London & Birmingham Railway (LBR), which amalgamated with other companies to form the London & North Western Railway (LNWR). The Grouping of 1923 resulted in this main line becoming part of the London, Midland & Scottish Railway (LMSR). A selection of dates are illustrated in this book.
