|This wonderful collection of photographs of LMS streamliners is a companion volume to the earlier book, The Coronation Scot, the Streamlined Era on the LMS, published in 2002, which described the train, the locomotives and the carriages, and the whole venture of the LMS into streamlining. It complements that book and supplements the photographs and information in it.
The streamlined locomotives are seen pulling the 'Coronation Scot' and other trains. Twenty of the photographs relate to the 'Coronation' train during its publicity tour of the USA, and a further twenty-one photographs show the locomotives in wartime unlined black.
Every possible aspect of the life and times of the LMS streamliners has been covered. The book is a celebration in photographs of these magnificent machines and will give pleasure to all their many admirers. It contains lots of detail for railway historians and modellers of the pre-war LMS.
