Statistics

This track is held not in the streets of Montreal but in an island of the St Lawrence River. Even though Canada is the home of the Villeneuves, Gilles has only won here once and Jacques has never won.

The Canadian Grand Prix has not been always held here, it used to be held at Mosport Park. It was moved here for 1978 (when Gilles Villeneuve had his dream win) and the only time that the race has not been a fixture on the Grand Prix calendar from then on after has been the year of 1987.
