RAF Woodvale was built as a 'Temporary Royal Air Force Station' in 1941 for the defence of Merseyside during World War 2. Initially the station consisted of three operational flying squadrons, a ground defence squadron and two thousand personnel.
The book relates the history of the airfield and lists the many units and aircraft types that have served at Woodvale.
